Somehow Different

Being an artist and artistic experience: The children programme ‘Somehow Different' offers this opportunity at the Gerberhaus (Tanners' House) in Fehring during regione08. "In total, four workshops are planned as well as an exhibition of the works created by the children and adolescents", explains the project leader Alexandra Riewe. Elisabeth and Katharina Rungaldier start with a painting workshop on the topic ‘Sleeping Beauty in the Orient'. The artist Mariateresa Satori takes the participants to ‘Babel' by means of the contemporary art form of audio works. Edda Strobel, who also participates in the exhibition ‘Orientierungen' (Orientations), will work together with the participants from 5 to 8 August to produce comics, and the art teacher and costume designer Aglaia Lang will work on ‘Clothes and Dressing up'. The results from the various ‘laboratories' will be shown in the Gerberhaus in Fehring for a fortnight.

Simultaneously, the current public library at the Gerberhaus Fehring is being upgraded with ‘good children's literature' (Riewe) during regionale08. A school from Graz is designing the right ‘hanging out environment' for reading and browsing.
