OVERWEIGHT, unimportant: UNFORM

In 1981, Werner Schwab, his wife, and his son Vincent withdrew to a small farm near Kohlberg in the district of Feldbach. There, he created amongst other works his second faeces drama ‘OVERWEIGHT, unimportant: UNFORM', which will have its premiere during the regionale08 in Feldbach. The director of this co-production of dramagraz, the Styrian Cultural Initiative, and the City Museum Graz is Ernst M. Binder, who was born in Feldbach and is one of the co-founders of forum stadtpark theater/dramagraz. Binder created the concept together with Alexandra Rollett.

'OVERWEIGHT, unimportant: Unform' is a drama which takes place in an Austrian country inn and draws on the author's long experience. The characters all live at the margin of society and reflect the author's biographical reality. Schwab was celebrated both as the enfant terrible of the cultural scene and as a rising star on the theatre sky, but throughout his life he has remained on the precarious edge and, in a certain way, without a homeland. This highly sensitive author and playwright never really found his roots, neither in the biotope of a city, nor in the remote countryside.

The cast will perform Schwab's classic play at various culture institutions, local inns, and church halls in the district. Tension-packed evenings are inevitable in the region where the play was created and whose characters served as blueprints for Schwab.
